Morning Empowerment – Teammates and Blind Spots

Morning Empowerment – Teammates and Blind Spots

As I wrapped up Building Winning Teams in preparation for its launch, I have been going through my own edits and comparing them to those found by King Creatives, my publisher. What I find astounding is that, although I have gone through this book three or four times already, my publisher was able to find over a hundred grammatical errors. Rather than serving as a testament to their good eye (and my bad grammar), this observation reminds me of the power of perspective. You can look at your problem, project or prospect up and down a hundred times, but one good view by a trusted outsider can give you perspective that you will not see on your own. Don’t leave blind spots open. Partners see what you cannot. It is a fact.  Use your team.

Morning Empowerment – Why Matters

Morning Empowerment – Why Matters

Why you are doing something matters as much as What you are doing. You can be doing an important work, but if you cannot assign the work to purpose, you do not feel significance. This is why med school, for example, is not for everyone. One the other end, you can be doing the most mundane task, like washing dishes or helping your child with homework. But if you understand the purpose and importance behind it, you have found significance in your work. Significance starts on the inside.
