Monday Empowerment: Turn Up The Intensity (This is where most people quit).

In a race, there is only one winner. Often in sports like track and field, the winner is not simply the most talented, but the most committed. Especially as you look to the top ranks of any sport the differentiation based on talent is much smaller when you are looking at the best of the best. What separates those at the peak from their peers is commitment and tolerance for pain.

In the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans legendary sports car race, former F1 driver Robert Kubica created one of the greatest comeback stories in motorsport history. Kubica, sharing the car with teammates Phil Hanson and Yifei Ye, drove the Ferrari AF Corse Ferrari 499P Hypercar to its final laps of the checkered flag beating Porsche Penske by only 14 seconds. What makes this feat remarcable is that Kubica drove the final the 59 laps and spent nearly 43% of the race behind the wheel, an enormous amount of time in a twenty-four hour race. During his long final stint, his drink system failed and he had to complete the race without water while holding off Porsche. If you watch the video of his final laps, you would observe his unmistakable fatigue as Kubica strained to hold his head up and firmly grip the wheel to take the victory. But after hours of driving, he crossed that finish line first. He won for Ferrari not because of absolute skill, but because of his determination to win. This win marked an incredible turnaround for the Polish driver who was poised to be very successful career in F1 but nearly lost his life in a bad racing accident in 2011.

More than raw talent, intensity and consistency are your differentiator. Most people will bow out because it is too hard. Turn up your intensity and stay in the race!

Where are you currently struggling? What would it look like to keep showing up and turn the knob on your intensity?
