How To Get Others To Join In On Your Mission

Jesus invited twelve disciples to join Him during his earthly ministry and they literally left everything they had to follow him. Interestingly, while these people may not have known Him well, they knew He was serious enough about His mission to be worth following.

Motivational speaker Eric Thomas once told listeners on his podcast not to just invite people to join their cause. He said, instead, to be “so great that people want to join in.” When people see that you are building something great and are serious about doing so, the right teammates join in to take it to the next level. Paradoxically, to make it to the next level while you need a team, you must first be committed to your project to gain support of future teammates. This is actually a point of breakthrough: when others invite themselves in to your project, dream and vision.

And of course, with committed teammates comes great ideas, solutions and processes that lead to bigger breakthroughs. So the compounding process looks like this: 1) build your project independently, 2) others buy in, 3) new breakthroughs develop. Be serious enough about your vision that it is worth it for others to follow.
