There was a director I once worked with who struggled for power. Not only was it clear he was over his head. Worse. He wouldn’t listen to his team. They tried to tell him his objectives were flawed and the strategy would not work. Instead of heeding their advice, he silenced them and proceeded forward any way. That director did not have his job very long.

Seek the counsel of your team. As the leader, you are not the smartest in the room, and nor should you be. Your skill and value comes from integrating the team. Now listen to their thoughts.
